I've been going on for ages about working on Splatalot cosplays but never got round to doing them. Well, I finally managed to track down enough resources for a Shaiden cosplay outfit. It's a work-in-progress but aaaaah. It's so awesome.

I ordered the bodysuit, sword and face paint this week. The bodysuit came Friday and the sword yesterday. I'm still waiting on the facepaint, until it comes I've been practising with eyeshadow, which by the way is a total pain as it takes ages to apply and doesn't show up nice and clean and bright...plus it's sparkley. I normally like glitter, but not when it's all over my face and hands. I'm meant to be an awesome ninja, not a fairy. The carry case for the sword is still in the process of being altered so it fits on my back without sliping around, should just be a case of tieing the strings at different lengths. I wish I had good references to pimp up the actual sword, but I can never get on the Splatalot website to look it up, which relly sucks. But I've practically been living in this costume for the whole weekend.

I've found sites to buy the boots and wrist guard things, but I need to wait until I get some more pocket money to buy them, though I could say the boots are actual clothing, then Mum might get them for me. As for the belt and thigh belts, no such luck on that. Luckily I've got some idea on how to make them, I just need to find the materials.

One thing's annoying me about this outfit: the way my stomache sticks out, but then I'm one of those people who say that you can cosplay anyone whatever your colour or size. And also my face is really square and round but I can't help my face shape, can I? And I need longer hair to ace the ponytail.

So in summary: I'm an in-progress cosplayer. Yay.
